Weekend versus midweek: the honest split
Almost every site publishes weekend tips. Very few publish how their weekend tips actually did, and fewer still compare them to the rest of the week. Here is ours, computed from the database on each page load.
And the same figures for fixtures played Monday to Friday:
Our weekend record is weaker than our midweek record, and we would rather say so than quietly publish only the flattering number. The likely reasons are structural: weekend fixture lists are several times longer, so more matches are priced with thin information; squads are rotated ahead of midweek European ties; and weekends carry more derbies, where form is a poorer guide than usual.
Why weekend football is a different problem
Betting a Saturday card is not the same exercise as betting a Tuesday night game, and treating them identically is one of the quieter ways bettors lose money.
- Volume dilutes attention. A full Saturday can carry sixty-odd fixtures across the major leagues. Bookmakers price the marquee games carefully and the rest more mechanically — but so does everyone else, and the soft prices sit in matches nobody has time to research properly.
- Team news lands late. Saturday 15:00 kickoffs confirm line-ups at 14:00. A tip published on Thursday is working with less information than one published an hour before a midweek game.
- Rotation before Europe. Clubs with a Champions League or Europa League tie on Tuesday routinely rest players on Saturday. The market knows this, but it prices the obvious cases and misses the marginal ones.
- Derbies distort form. Weekends carry a disproportionate share of local rivalries, and derby results correlate with league form far more weakly than ordinary fixtures do.
- Early kickoffs are their own category. The Saturday lunchtime game is televised, high-profile and among the most heavily bet fixtures of the week, which makes it one of the most accurately priced.
Using the weekend card sensibly
Each tip is published on its own, with its own stake in units, and settled on its own. That is deliberate: an accumulator that misses one leg tells you nothing about whether the other four judgements were sound, so combining tips destroys the very information that makes a record worth reading.
If you do want to combine them, do it knowingly. Five tips at even money in a single accumulator is roughly a one-in-thirty shot, not five chances to be right. The parlay calculator will show you the real number before you stake it.
Stake sizes matter more across a long weekend card than on a single midweek game, because the temptation is to back everything. A tipster staking two units has roughly twice the conviction of one staking a single unit — bankroll management covers how to size that against your own bankroll rather than theirs.
Gamble responsibly
Betting carries a risk of loss, and a long weekend card makes it easy to stake far more across two days than you would on any single match. Set the limit before Saturday, not during Sunday. Never chase a losing Saturday with a bigger Sunday.

Weekend football tips — questions
When are the weekend tips published?
Through the week as fixtures firm up, with most Saturday tips landing on Friday and Saturday morning once team news is out. The page shows whatever is currently open, newest first, and each tip carries the timestamp it was published at.
Does the page cover Saturday and Sunday separately?
Yes. Tips are grouped by day so you can plan a Saturday coupon without wading through Sunday fixtures. Both days count as the same weekend for the record below.
Are weekend tips better or worse than midweek ones?
On our data, worse — and we publish that rather than hide it. The split is shown on this page. Weekend fixture lists are far longer, which means more matches with thin team news, more rotation before midweek European games, and more derbies where form matters less than usual.
What happens if a weekend match is postponed?
The tip is voided and the stake returned, and it stays visible in the record as a void rather than being deleted. Voids do not move ROI or hit rate in either direction.
Do you cover accumulators for the weekend?
Not as a single combined bet. Every tip is published and settled on its own, because an accumulator's result tells you nothing about whether the individual judgements were any good. You are free to combine them yourself.
Is a weekend tip a guaranteed win?
No. No tip is. Anyone advertising guaranteed or sure weekend wins is selling you something. Our best-performing tipster wins roughly two bets in three, and that is a strong record precisely because it is not three in three.
