Omonia Nicosia vs Benfica

Benfica arrive in Nicosia in form that is hard to ignore. Nine wins from their last ten matches, an average of 2.7 goals scored and 19.3 shots per game say a lot about a side that takes control and creates plenty. They hold that level well on the road too: four wins from their last five away games, averaging 2.6 goals for and 0.8 against. The one away defeat, 3–1 in September, does show they are not invulnerable on their travels.

Omonia, however, are no easy opponents at home. They are unbeaten in their last five home matches, with two wins and three draws, and have conceded just 0.6 goals per game there. With 17.4 shots per home game, they also take the initiative themselves. Their home average of 1.4 goals scored is nonetheless clearly lower than the 2.1 they manage across ten matches overall.

That home solidity is precisely the objection to this bet. Three draws in five home games means Omonia often keep matches tight, and the combination requires both a Benfica win and at least two goals. A narrow 1–0 to the visitors would be enough to sink it.

Even so, I believe Benfica's attacking weight will tell, and that an away winner in this game will most likely need to win by a couple of goals. I'm going with Benfica to win + over 1.5 goals at odds of 1.52, with a one-unit stake.
