- The match — which players, which event, and the round.
- The market — what is actually being bet on. Match winner is not the same bet as a legs or sets handicap.
- The selection — the specific side of that market, such as a player to win, or a handicap line.
- Odds and stake — the price at publication, and how many units the tipster staked. Two units means roughly twice the conviction of a one-unit tip.
A tip is a judgement, not a prediction. Even good tips lose often. It is the sum across many tips that shows whether the judgement was worth anything — which is why sample size gets so much weight here.
